Description
One of the best family experiences without a doubt is a guided full-day visit to Rincon de la Vieja National Park, where you can explore all the flora and fauna that surround this marvelous place.
The day consists of a moderate 2-hour hike where you can observe wildlife like howler monkeys, armadillos, deer, white-faced monkeys, coatis, and a variety of birds. You’ll also have the opportunity to witness volcanic activity and waterfalls. This volcano is one of the active ones in Costa Rica, which is why you can observe fumaroles and bubbling volcanic mud.
After a day full of excitement, you’ll likely have worked up quite an appetite. No problem! At this point, you’ll enjoy a delicious Costa Rican buffet-style lunch.
You can then relax in hot springs and indulge in a volcanic mud bath. There are 8 thermal pools in Rio Negro, perfect for unwinding and experiencing the therapeutic benefits of the volcanic mud.
